As we promised, we’re back with another interesting update from the tech world. Today, we’ll talk about Ruby on Rails, an open-source server-side web application framework. The software is coded in Ruby and it is under MIT License.
Considered the best framework for creating new-age web applications in an easy, quick and hassle-free way, Ruby on Rails has released its latest version – Ruby on Rails 5.1.0.beta1 on March 20, 2017.
The new version comes with brand new features:
The ease of adding JavaScript dependencies via Yarn.
The flexibility of using Webpack with Rails.
jQuery dependency is no longer required as Rails UJS has been re-constructed for using VanillaJS.
Ruby on Rails was first launched in July, 2004. However, the free web app framework got a worthy release in October, 2007 with Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard (the collaboration of Ruby on Rails and Apple). Since 2007, there have been several versions of this software. Ruby on Rails 5.0 launched in June, 2016 included API mode, Turbolinks 5 and Action Cable.
Stay tuned for more.
